Density Black Cat (Acoustic) is the acoustic-rock side of singer/songwriter guitarists Dennis Doyle’s and Don “BlackCat” Sztabnik’s original songs. When these two are not performing with their 4-piece “dirty rock-n-roll” band, Density Black Cat, which includes fellow rockers Gass Wild on drums, and Mitchell Zerring on bass, Dennis & Don are performing their acoustic roots flavored songs that blend their inspirations of blues, folk, rock, and punk. When possible, Gass Wild joins in on light percussion with backup vocals, and Mitchell Zerring on acoustic bass. Although the band has played throughout NYC and vicinity for several years, this acoustic act started just over a year ago and has grown at a rapid pace at select venues. All of these band mates share an extensive musical past that came of age as the NYC Downtown music scene of the early-mid 1970’s was breaking out with a whole new edge. All were fortunate to have been performing at places such as Max’s Kansas City, CBGBs, Folk City, The Limelight, The Ritz, and many more. Density Black Cat is now considered one of the forebears of that distinctive and authentic “New York City Rock sound” and are eager to share that passion where and when they can. “Great Rock-n-Roll band! Authentic ‘old-school’ NYC sound!” –Robbie Russo, DJ LiveAndLoudRadio.com
