Vocalist Ali Babs returns to Pangea with “VELVET (serenade) – the music of Lou Reed.”
‘VELVET (serenade)’ is the first in a trilogy of workshop presentations exploring the music and poetry of Lou Reed. The ‘VELVET’ series culminates in a full-length show adopting Reed’s work as the vehicle to explore the Tibetan Buddhist concept of the Bardo.
Ali last performed at Pangea with Leonard Cohen Koans, her ‘part-concert, part-tribute’ show exploring the music, poetry and spirituality of legendary Canadian artist Leonard Cohen.
Joined by the stunning and versatile Adam Armstrong (upright bass) and Curtis J Brewer (electric guitar), ‘VELVET (serenade)’ plays Friday April 19th at 9:30pm. The evening will feature original interpretations of the music of rock musician, storyteller, and poet Lou Reed.
