Throughout time, great romances have given way to great tragedy, for how can love exist without the impending grief of loss? And how can grief exist without first the presence of love? But which, in the end, is more triumphant?
Well, Love and Grief just walked into a bar and are about to have a little contest to see which of them holds more sway. Through an evening of song, ranging from classical to contemporary music, our Masters of Ceremony will settle their score, once and for all! “I Love You to Death” tracks the soaring highs and devastating lows of love, from first blush of infatuation, through devotion and obsession, to bitter heartbreak, all the while exploring the ways in which Love and Grief are forever intertwined.
“I Love You To Death” features performances by the cast of Killer Queen’s upcoming presentation of Monteverdi’s La Favola d’Orfeo: Jay St. Flono, Alonso Jordan Lopez, Samuel Flores, and Marie Anello, as well as founders Christina Swanson and Karina Camile Parker. Proceeds from this cabaret, as well as fundraising donations, will help support our production of Orfeo on June 30th, at the Cutting Room in NYC.
