Barbara Martinez grew up performing in New York City. Originally from Venezuela, she is the grand-niece of iconic Argentine tango singer Libertad Lamarque. For more than 20 years she has worked as a dancer and singer with numerous flamenco dance companies and world music ensembles, and danced with the Metropolitan Opera, where she also sang as a child. In 2010, Barbara performed at Carnegie Hall/Weill in a solo concert to a sold out house. She has since appeared in the documentary “Sobre Las Olas – A Story of Flamenco in the U.S.” by Carolina Loyola-Garcia and the photography exhibit entitled “100 Years of Flamenco in New York” at the NY Performing Arts Library. Her album under ALBA Musik made it to the first round US Grammys in 2023. She is a graduated of Brown University (BA 1998) and is currently pursuing graduate studies at Berklee College of Music. Barbara teaches music at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School.

Jackson Scott -Born in Seville to British parents who left London for rural Spain in the 70´s, Jackson’s music is steeped in these differing cultures. Flamenco flourishes embellish songwriting reminiscent of the late 60′s Kinks and Syd Barrett, but with a more anarchic attitude. Unusual jazz-influenced chords crossover with New Orleans/Rock ‘n Roll beats against a constant backdrop of rumbas and strong Hispanic rhythms. Lyrics move smoothly between his two mother tongues. For the past ten years Jackson has been touring extensively in Europe, the Middle East and Russia, playing with his Spanish punk band Mano de Dios. More recently, backed by a growing group of top virtuoso musicians from South America , France and the US, his English project The Jackson Scott Band has kicked off with a sound blending Latino with American Trad Jazz.
