Songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer Rachelle Garniez presents a panoply of original songs from a long ways back and back again, including songs written for and with other people including Taylor Mac, Catherine Russell, Sven Ratzke, Rob Roth, The CItizens Band, Palmyra Delran, and others. Along with the dream team of bassist Derek Nievergelt and violist Karen Waltuch, as well as a couple of surprise guests, Rachelle serves up an array of genre-fluid story-songs ranging from sultry homages to the Tin Pan Alley era, to New Wave problem child rock, traveling from the subway stations of NYC to stages around the globe.
Known as a “certified free spirit” (The New Yorker) and a “diva with a difference” (Billboard Magazine) Rachelle‘s songs have been deemed “romantic, rhapsodic, and casually hilarious” (The New York Times). Two of her songs received attention this past pandemic year, cited in two recent New York Times interviews with Penny Arcade and with Taylor Mac regarding their personal playlists.
