Peter Calo (“One of the most engaging performers in the biz” —Time Out London), brings his new trio to Pangea to fill the room with music from his newly released and critically acclaimed recording, “Time Machine”.
Peter will perform music from his new release, and visit the songs of some of his favorite composers–and will add in a seasonal song or two. He’ll be joined by Jeff Eyrich on bass (Tim Buckley, Bette Midler, Tanya Tucker, Dave’s True Story) and drummer Clem Waldmann (Blue Man Group, Debbie Harry (Blondie), Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Gaynor, Tracy Bonham, Natalie Merchant (10,000 Maniacs), Ronnie Spector).
“I love playing at Pangea,” says Peter. “There is such a great vibe, and this intimate performance space is the perfect spot to hear this band.”
Peter will be performing at Carnegie Hall in March as part of a tribute to Carly Simon. This tribute was Covid-delayed, and one we look forward to with much anticipation.
“Peter Calo is the musician you meet early in your career and all of a sudden you’re 70 years old and you’re lucky enough to still be playing and writing with him. This album shows his ability to merge styles and introduce new structures and harmonies with himself singing lead vocals. Always an inspiration and always quite surprising. Life sure does shine bright on an ordinary day!! Oh, wait a second, I think he wrote that!!” CARLY SIMON
