Cabaret Room: Pangea Cool Fall Nights Jazz Series JAY CLAYTON Birthday Celebration, 7:00pm, cash cover

$25Jay Clayton became part of the free jazz and avant-card jazz scene in the 1960’s in NYC. Clayton acted as artistic director for the 1st. ever Women in Jazz Festival in 1979.
She has 17 recordings as a leader to her credit and has performed at all all the major jazz rooms across the country as well as performances at Jazz Festivals in Europe.
Clayton has 17 recordings as a leader to her credit and has worked with such luminaries as Jane Ira Bloom, Steve Lacy, Jerry Granelli, John Lindberg, Fred Hersch and Jim Knapp just to name a few.
Her birthday celebration will include various tunes from her numerous recordings as well as some surprises.
