Cabaret Room: Lessons I Learned from Jobs Not on My Resume, 7:00pm

September 29 2023, 7:00 pm-8:30 pm

$20

“Wildly entertaining” new show by the “incredible storyteller” Lisa Faith Phillips with Ellen Mandel on piano and special guests.

I’m delighted to be back at Pangea with my new show of comedy and song Lessons I Learned from Jobs Not on My Resume. When I was headhunted for a job as CEO of a new website from a well-known brand and asked to write what lessons I learned from jobs on my resume, it made think about jobs that were not on my resume – which might cause this brand to think twice.

Laugh out loud at the lessons I’ve learned from working my way through graduate school as a stripper, writing and performing phone sex at Penthouse, being a back-up dancer for Bette Midler and Mick Jagger, working as a maître D at the celebrity-filled Russian Tea Room, my night in jail and being sued for my parody musical, 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Effective Mistresses!

The marvelous composer and songwriter Ellen Mandel will be on piano. With other musical special guests.

I would like to thank Pangea for letting me develop my shows Make America Laugh and Sing Again and Songs of Love and Adultery. On my Linked-in resume, I admit to working on Wall Street, in publishing at Time Warner, Hachette and Random House, where I was Vice President and General Manager, at the Council on Foreign Relations, and the China-US Women’s Foundation. I have written and performed solo and two-person shows in NYC, DC’s Capital Fringe Festival, Dublin and the Edinburg Fringe Festival. My two plays At All Times and All-Nude College-Girl Revue had sold out runs in New York City. I am currently studying music theory at Juilliard and working on my first novel Love in the Russian Tea Room.
