Arriving at Columbia University in 1967, Gerry Geddes found himself in the throes of a political, social, and sexual revolution. Against a backdrop of the anti-Vietnam War movement, the cultural upheaval of Stonewall and Gay Liberation exploding, he entered a vibrant world of theatre and music. He fell in love, he witnessed the AIDS epidemic in the most personal way, and he not only survived but thrived in his adopted home – the city that formed and changed his life in unexpected and lasting ways. It is a tale bursting with humor, pain, passion, and history told in a voice that is funny and touching and powerful, and uniquely his own.
Come to the Release Party for his memoir – there will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres in the front lounge at 8:30pm followed by a reading (including a few songs by Brian Childers, Matt DiPasquale, Andre Montgomery and Paul Greenwood) and book signing. Make reservations because it will fill up fast!
