From her origins in a tenement in Brooklyn among a family of vaudevillians, through her stage career at the height of Sondheim’s Broadway, to her continued growth and change, Annie McGreevey weaves funny and heartfelt stories through an eclectic and dynamic mix of songs.
Annie McGreevey’s stage, television, and film career spans over 40 years. She has been featured on Broadway and in London’s West End in some of the theater’s biggest hits, including Sweet Charity, Company, Sweeney Todd, and Annie, and has headlined at the Fontainebleau, the Improvisation, Grossinger’s, and Mount Airy Lodge. Her performances have been called “masterful” (NYTheater Now); “timorously brash and touching” (NY Post) with “the passion of a Weill heroine” (Punch); “outrageously comic” (After Dark); and “unforgettable” (Joyce Carol Oates).
Annie is accompanied by Eric Benjamin Gordon (guitar), Larry Spivack (percussion), and Carl Danielsen (musical director/keyboard).
