A recipient of a fellowship from New York Foundation for the Arts, Andriy Milavsky is the founder and music director of Cheres Ukrainian Folk Orchestra, which has been called the “best purveyor of authentic Ukrainian folk music in the United States” (Joseph Hickerson, former head of the Archive of Folk Culture at the Library of Congress). Recent CD’s include “From the Mountains to the Steppe,” Papa’s Lullaby, and Smithsonian Folkways’ Global Beat of the Boroughs.
The group has played sold-out engagements at nightclubs and concerts in NYC (Town Hall, Joe’s Pub) at major music festivals (Damrosch Park, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, Smithsonian Folklife Festival), and universities such as Harvard. Mr. Milavsky was also co-artistic director of the Ukrainian Community Cultural Initiative in New York City, for which he organized and performed folk dance parties at various locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. During this five-year initiative, he also taught music ( classical, jazz, pop, folk) to grade schoolers on the Lower East Side. Mr. Milavsky as been called “The Charlie Parker of Ukraine” by WNYC’s The Next Big Thing. He actively promotes Ukrainian and Carpathian music, conducting folk seminars, arranging and recording melodies for Ukrainian dance companies, and acts as a consultant to record producers working on Eastern European projects.

Lesya Verba (Odesa, Ukraine – NYC, USA) interdisciplinary artist (singer, actress, artist-designer, songwriter, bandura player, muralist, activist) – easily changes images and plunges into the atmosphere from the music of the Art Deco era, progressive urban jazz and a feminine mixture of cultures.

Pangea is New York’s iconic restaurant / cabaret dinner theater. All shows have a $20 food and/or beverage minimum per person (unless otherwise indicated on your ticket.)
Tickets online are $25. Tickets at the door, if available, are $30 (Cash Only).
The house opens at 6:00pm for food and beverage service.
Please note the ticket price goes mostly to the performers and production staff. The club sells food and beverages to continue to bring live music to NYC.
We do not take reservations and seating is first come, first seated.
